Code of Conduct
Last Updated: Aug-21-2026
At Magic & the Murphys, we believe theme parks, cruise ships, and entertainment destinations are shared spaces meant for magic, family, and escapism.
In light of recent media attention surrounding disruptive behavior by certain creators in the online community, we want to be completely transparent about how we operate. We are taking proactive steps to distance ourselves from these bad actors and set a higher standard for in-park content creation—whether we are recording videos or live-streaming.
Our goal is simple: to ensure our content creation never detracts from the experience of fellow guests, interferes with the important work of destination team members, or compromises venue safety.
While filming and live-streaming in a dynamic public environment means we cannot guarantee perfection, we continuously strive to do our absolute best to hold ourselves accountable and make every visit a positive experience for everyone around us:
1. Prioritizing Safety & Respect
Attentive to Staff Guidance: Employee and Cast Member safety instructions always come first. If asked to stow equipment or pause filming on an attraction, show, or specific area, we aim to comply promptly and respectfully.
Respectful Guest & Staff Interactions: We strive to keep all interactions positive, polite, and considerate. We never film anyone to provoke conflict, pressure staff to break character, ask inappropriate questions, or focus on employees just trying to do their job.
Mindful Equipment Setups: We do our best to keep our gear minimal and unobtrusive, refraining from prohibited selfie sticks or bulky rigs that block sight lines, impede foot traffic, or create safety concerns.
2. Preserving Rides, Shows & Shared Experiences
Inconspicuous Filming & Mindful Seating: During rides, indoor shows, dark queues, and theater presentations, we lower screen brightness and refrain from talking over audio soundtracks, ride narration, or performances so surrounding guests can enjoy the experience. Whenever possible, we do our best to request or sit in spots where we will cause the least distraction; however, because seating is often assigned or limited, we may not always have a choice, and we sincerely apologize for any unintentional disruption in those moments.
No External Lighting: We never use phone flashes, external video lights, or camera lighting rigs on dark attractions, in low-light spaces, or during indoor shows out of consideration for fellow guests.
3. Respecting Personal Space & Guest Privacy
Protection of Minors: While we do our absolute best to avoid filming any other guests in general, this applies especially to children given that theme parks and destinations are inherently family environments. Incidental appearances can happen in dynamic public crowds (such as a child walking through a shot or appearing in the background near major landmarks and shops), but a minor will never be the intended focus or subject of our video or broadcast without express permission from an adult in their travel party.
Queue Privacy & Self-Facing Framing: While waiting in line or navigating crowded spaces, we make every effort to keep the camera turned toward our own faces rather than filming surrounding guests (even if it means giving our audience an unflattering extreme close-up of our chins!). We fully appreciate that people are on vacation to relax and may prefer not to appear on camera.
Sharing Public Spaces: We hold a high standard for sharing public amenities—such as benches, viewing spots, dining tables, and lounge areas. We do not block off or monopolize shared areas for filming or broadcasting.
4. Transparent Monetization & Community Moderation
Clear & Respectful Calls-to-Action: We create content out of a genuine love for sharing the magic. Aside from sharing standard calls-to-action (such as inviting viewers to like, subscribe, check out our channel memberships, explore our affiliate channels or sponsors, or visit our website for travel planning services), we do not solicit Super Chats, financial hand-outs, or gifted memberships to cover our day-to-day park expenses.
Respecting Retail & Venue Spaces: While we love highlighting new merchandise, window shopping, and sharing fun gift shop showcases in our videos and streams, we strictly use these spaces for entertainment purposes only. We do not host live sales events, conduct personal shopping services, sweep shelf inventory, or solicit merchandise purchases from our viewers.
Proactive Chat Moderation & Safety First: During live broadcasts, our moderation team works diligently to keep stream chats safe, welcoming, and free from toxic behavior, harassment, or malicious pranks. If viewers refuse to follow moderator directions or if online behavior ever escalates to where real-world safety becomes a concern, we will immediately end the recording or stream. No video or content is ever worth risking the safety or peace of mind of real-world people.
At the end of the day, we do this simply because we love sharing the magic and having fun together.
While we hate that a formal policy like this even has to exist, establishing clear boundaries is necessary to protect our team, the hard-working park employees, and the regular vacationing guests around us.
Thank you for supporting us in keeping the parks magical for everyone!
