Frequently Asked Questions

  • How much do travel agent services cost?

Our travel planning services are completely free when you book through us. We’re paid by our travel partners, not by our clients — so you’ll receive expert help, insider tips, and full support at no extra cost!

  • What destinations do you specialize in?

We specialize in Disney Destinations, Universal Orlando, and cruise vacations around the world. From theme park getaways to tropical cruises, we help guests find the right fit for their travel style.

  • Can you book non-Disney or non-cruise vacations?

Yes! While Disney and cruises are our most popular requests, we also plan Universal vacations, resort stays, and other family-friendly destinations. If it involves travel, we can help.

  • Why should I book with Magic & the Murphys instead of doing it myself?

When you book your vacation through Magic & the Murphys, you get more than just reservations. You get personal guidance from start to finish. We handle the details, watch for discounts, and make sure every part of your trip runs smoothly so you can focus on enjoying the magic.

Most vacations cost the same whether you book yourself or through a travel agent, but working with us means less stress, expert advice, and a real person ready to help if plans change.

  • Are you certified or affiliated with any major travel organizations?

Yes. Austin Hungler is a Certified Cruise Counsellor (CCC) through Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA).

He is also a Royal Caribbean University Master of Adventure graduate, and a Virgin Voyages Certified First Mate.

This education ensures you receive expert, up-to-date travel advice!

  • How can I contact you to start planning?

You can reach us directly through our Book a Vacation page or by clicking the “Email Us” button at the bottom of that page. We’ll respond personally to help you start planning your next trip!

  • Is the Disney Dining Plan worth the money?

    It depends on your party!

For 2026, it is an incredible value for families with children ages 3–9 due to frequent "Kids Eat Free" promotions. For adults, it's best for those who love character dining and the convenience of a "pre-paid" vacation.

We can run the math for your specific itinerary to see if it saves you money!

  • What are, 'Lookout Cay' and 'Castaway Cay'?

These are Disney’s two private Bahamian destinations. Castaway Cay is the classic, manicured private island experience. Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point is the newest destination, celebrating Bahamian culture with pink sand beaches and local Junkanoo spirit. Both offer world-class Disney service in paradise!

  • How do I handle the '3:00 PM Wall' with kids?

    We recommend the Mid-Day Split!

Head back to your resort for a swim or nap when the parks are hottest and busiest. You’ll return refreshed for round two, and it’s the perfect time to use your Park Hopper tickets to explore a new park for the evening!

  • Is travel insurance actually worth it?

    We STRONGLY recommend it.

From flight delays getting to the park, to unexpected medical needs at sea, insurance provides a safety net that standard health plans don't.

It’s a small investment to protect your much larger vacation investment.

  • When is the best time to book my vacation?

The best time to book is almost always the day the itineraries are released. For both Disney and cruises, "Opening Day" offers the lowest introductory pricing and the best selection of room categories. As the parks and ships fill up, prices typically rise, so locking in your dates early ensures you get the most value for your budget.

  • What is the difference between the Disney ships?

Each ship has its own personality and "home" port. From the classic elegance of the Disney Magic to the immersive hero-and-villain themes on the new Disney Destiny, we help you choose the ship that matches your family's favorite stories and your preferred destination, whether it's the Caribbean, Europe, or beyond!
